Desert Nights, Deep Learning: Teaching at ASU’s Premier Writing Conference

In October, I had the honor of talking alllllll things Networking at Arizona State University’s Desert Nights, Rising Stars Conference—a three-day celebration of craft, creativity, and community. From poets to essayists, historical romance authors to fantasy writers, this conference brings together artists from every corner of the writing world.

The atmosphere was electric—three days filled with challenging workshops, deep discussions, new friendships, and the kind of inspiration that refills your creative tank for months.

I was grateful to be part of such a rich program and even more grateful to meet so many writers who are passionate about growing in their craft and building their network. Every hallway conversation, every question, every shared moment reminded me why I do this work.

There truly was something for everyone—and I left feeling both humbled and energized.
